SEEC Institute Announces Pearson Croney-Clark as Director of External Affairs
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition Institute, SEEC Institute, announced the hire of Pearson Croney-Clark as Director of External Affairs. She joins the organization’s growing team of experts led by Executive Director Max Frankel and the recently announced inaugural Board of Directors.
SEEC Institute, launched in May 2024, builds on the 15-year track record of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) in the House of Representatives. As a nonprofit organization, SEEC Institute convenes Congress, the private sector, leading climate and environmental advocates, and other experts to facilitate formal and regular connections to make significant climate strides.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Pearson to the SEEC Institute,” stated Frankel. “Her breadth of experience working across the public and private sectors both at home and internationally gives her unique insight into strategy building, developing meaningful programming, and coalition building among a wide set of stakeholders. This paired with her commitment to climate action make Pearson a valuable addition to our ambitious team.”
Pearson Croney-Clark said, “we find ourselves at a tipping point with the opportunity and obligation to reduce emissions and create an equitable and prosperous future. Making rapid progress in the sustainable transition is undeniably a vast challenge that will require work across sectors, governments, and people. I am honored to join SEEC Institute, where I'm confident we will make meaningful advancements towards tackling this existential crisis.”
Prior to joining SEEC Institute, Croney-Clark served as Public Affairs Manager at the oatmilk company Oatly, where she worked at the intersection of food systems and climate issues. Previously, she served as Policy Advisor to the Canadian Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and as Government Relations Specialist for the American Chamber of Commerce in France.
Now a Brooklyn resident, Croney-Clark is a native Kentuckian. She holds a Masters from Sciences Po’s School of Public Affairs and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and American Studies from the University of Toronto.
About SEEC Institute
SEEC Institute’s mission is to convene the private sector, Congress, leading climate and environmental advocates, and other experts to facilitate more formal and regular connections between interested parties and stakeholders to secure the biggest climate and clean energy solutions possible.
The Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, or SEEC, was founded in 2009 and has grown to a group of over 95 members of the House of Representatives that fight for climate and clean energy policies. Like many of its peer organizations on the Hill, supporters of SEEC noticed limits in the group’s abilities to convene and advance priorities. As a result, in late 2023, SEEC Institute was established as a nonprofit organization.
