Catalyzing Climate Solutions: Assessing IRA and IIJA's Use of Public Funds to Spur Private Investment

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) rely heavily on public funding and financing to encourage private capital investments in clean energy technologies. In a new white paper, “Catalyzing Climate Solutions,” researchers working on behalf of the SEEC Institute document promising indicators of clean energy deployment and investment responding to these incentives.  This work offers a midstream assessment of both the successes and shortcomings of programs designed to blend public and private capital, and proffers key lessons from the implementation of programs to date that suggest recommendations for improvement in the future.
